Play your part in creating the next generation of baroque players The EUBO Development Trust supports young European baroque musicians who are at the start of their careers as well as the work of the European Union Baroque Orchestra (EUBO).
When EUBO first started in 1985, there was no formal training opportunity for gifted young students of baroque music. Today, while the situation has improved, EUBO remains unique in the opportunities it offers to young musicians. There is now no serious professional baroque ensemble in the world that does not include at least one former EUBO member.Funding from the European Commission does not cover all the orchestra’s work which is why the support of the Development Trust is so important.
The EUBO Development Trust
- gives awards to promising young musicians at a number of prestigious early music competitions
- gives bursaries to enable music students from EU countries to travel to and participate in EUBO’s activities
- supports EUBO’s regular visits to St John's Smith Square, London
gives grants to assist the purchase of instruments required by students who otherwise cannot afford to buy or hire them gives grants to young baroque performing ensembles assists with CD recordings of baroque music
